Kid A Mnesia Exhibition originally was planned to be a physical installation, but it later shifted its focus to the digital realm due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now that the final list of free games has been announced, players can see how the end of 2021 is shaping up. The project is a celebration of two of the band's most acclaimed works - Kid A and Amnesia - which have now turned 21 and 20-years-old, respectively. Experience two iconic albums in a new format. It’s available Thursday for free on PC, Mac, and PS5. The end of 2020 had a similarly impressive list of final free releases, with players able to pick up titles like Pillars of Eternity, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, and Alien: Isolation. Kid A Mnesia Exhibition is a virtual Radiohead art museum featuring music from Kid A and Amnesiac. This was in addition to its seasonal sale with discounts on hundreds of games and themed events to get everyone in the spirit of the holiday. The Epic Games Store had a strong showing last month, with several Halloween-appropriate releases to see gamers through the spooky season. Now, with the final announcement this week of the last list of free games for November, players can look at what was on offer throughout the whole month. We'll find out for sure sometime this November.Unlike other services like Xbox's Games with Gold or PlayStation's PS Plus, certain weekly releases on the Epic Games Store are free and are not subject to a subscription fee. Games like Gone Home feature very limited gameplay features. Take from that what you will, but at the very least it seems likely we'll be wandering around some cool areas while listening to some sweet tunes. On the Epic Games Store page for the exhibition it lists its genres as "exploration" and "first-person", and its features as "single player" and "controller support". Though being an "exhibition" it implies more observing, and less audience participation. There's no word on whether it will be an interactive thing like, say, the League Of Legends Pentakill concert that took place the other night (that had viewers clicking furiously to send off fireworks and voting for what would happen). Its release seems set to coincide with the reissue of the old Kid A and Amnesiac albums, Kid Amnesiae, which comes out on November 5th (via Pitchfork). Radiohead worked with both Epic, namethemachine (who create software for live shows and interactive performances) and Arbitrarily Good Productions to make the exhibition.
